Course Description: This course explores modern ethical issues that are often found in the massage therapy field. Massage is more intimate than other healthcare professions; this makes it a bit easier for professional lines and boundaries to get crossed. By identifying specific behaviors that might indicate an ethical issue, therapists can adapt their own behaviors to best manage situations they may encounter.

When therapists are aware of words, actions, and phrases that might indicate a possible issue, they can diffuse situations before they get out of hand. This course will identify and provide some easy behaviors that therapists can use to provide the ultimate therapeutic experiences for their clients.

Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to master the following objectives with a minimum of 70% accuracy:

You have 365 days from the purchase date to complete the Course before it expires; however, if your renewal is due before this date, you must complete this Course before your renewal date.  If you do not complete the Course upon expiration, you must purchase an “extension.” Otherwise, you forfeit your Course and will have to repurchase it.  Extensions are 75% of posted prices for six more months of Access.  You may do this within your account under “Extend Expiration” within 90 days of the expiration.  Upon successful completion and/or expiration of the Course, you will not have Access to the Course unless it is extended or purchased again.

Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, South Carolina & Tennessee:

For actively Licensed Massage Therapists, we submit credits for each accepted Course directly to your Board in these specific states; however, this submission is made for those who have entered their License Number with the Associated States listed within their account before taking an exam. For Florida, this Course is not accepted in the category “Live: Relevant to and Focus on Massage Therapy Techniques” and will be accepted either in the general category or the mandatory categories such as Ethics, Medical Errors, FL Laws, or Human Trafficking (depending upon the Course).

Louisiana:

For actively licensed Massage Therapists who have their license number and Louisiana selected and identified within their account, we will submit credits to LA for each approved Course.  Louisiana Therapists Notice:  Visit www.cemassage.com/la to view our current list of approved Courses before taking an exam (as Course listings and approvals can change); no exchanges or refunds will be granted.  Only Courses on our LA webpage with an LCEU number are approved for LA.  We do not submit credit for Courses not approved by Louisiana.
